The Apple iPhone, possibly the most anticipated product of our modern times, is being sold all over the US for a while now, and the other continents will follow soon. We all know what it is, what it looks like and what it can do. but what about all those concepts made in previous years? Which concept was closest to the actual iPhone? Which one would have been the best?

I’ve done some research and made my personal top 10.

 

Nr 10: A typical yet classy slide phone, that’s for shore. The iPod references are very clear… …still, I miss the feeling that it’s an apple product. It could have been a Samsung without the scroll wheel.

 

 

 

 

Nr 9: A good looking PDA, but just as with the previous, I miss a clear apple reference.

 

 

 

 

Nr 8: The magic of scotch tape, couldn’t resist to put this eBay spoof into the top 10.

 

 

 

 

Nr 7: A slide-PDA with a widescreen, and clear iPod references. But is this phone minimal enough to be an Apple product?

 

 

 

 

Nr 6: An iPod with a keypad? Some will call it a simple solution, but I’m convinced it would work if the phone had a reasonable price and modest functions. After all, isn’t Apple all about simplicity?

 

 

 

 

Nr 5: An iPod mini with a retro adjustment. I know, not really realistic, but you have to admit it looks great. Fun idea.

 

 

 

 

Nr 4: Looks great, looks hot, looks like an iPod, looks like the actual iPhone, looks good

 

 

 

 

Nr 3: Somewhat like previous concept, but in my opinion slightly better executed. Although it doesn’t really resemble an iPod like previous, it still looks like an Apple product. Wouldn’t mind having that in my pocket.

 

 

 

 

Nr 2: One button, minimalism to the extreme, breathtaking. I’m not shore exactly how it works though…

Nr 1: Refers to the iPod, looks Apple, sleek, stylish, hip, stunning, practical, perfect.
