Competing with the Apple iPhone isn’t exactly a peace of cake. We all now that. But despite that, Sony Ericsson is giving it a go with the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1.
The Xperia X1 is a sleek looking PDA with touch screen, Querty keyboard for the tactile feedback, 3.2 megapixel camera and more. And this all in a fine Arc slide design, assisted by a new and fresh interactive interface.
Watch out Apple.
Inspiration is vital for every designer. Some look at nature, some to their direct surroundings, some at other design branches, some at other designers.
It looks like Jonathan “Apple” Ive found Braun’s Dieter Rams a great source.
When you look at the Braun products by Dieter Rams—many of them at New York’s MoMA—and compare them to Ive’s work at Apple, you can clearly see the similarities in their philosophies way beyond the sparse use of color, the selection of materials and how the products are shaped around the function with no artificial design, keeping the design “honest.”
