It is not just a regular lamp. Due to the specific construction of the metal “tentacles”, the lamp opens when it becomes hotter due to the high temperature of the light bulb, and closes when the metal cools.

But will this fantastic product also work with more environmentally friendly, and thus less heat transmitting lighting systems like LED’s ore energy saver bulbs?
