Kuka: caligraphic writing robotic arm

Robotics have gone a long way, but Kuka is definitely a remarkable one. No Artificial intelligence here, No falling from stairs, no Sony Rolly dancing. Just a robotic arm that is capable of prefect calligraphic writing.

Installing a processing unit with voice recognition and making it pocket size would surely make students their life a whole lot easier.

That is really cool. I’m sure it just has the font’s broken down into vectors that it can trace with the pen… and somehow they’ve got it to figure out how to determine the pressure needed to create certain strokes. Very interesting.
