Cocoon concept: Emergency Shelter
september 9th, 2007 by admin
Today, The Blub’s focus is on “Cocoon”, a concept designed by John Moriarty.
Cocoon is a place to find shelter in extreme conditions and environments. Hang it off a tree or a cliff face or anywhere you else need to. Inside, the user is comforted by warming colors and materials that will ensure they stay warm no matter what the conditions are like outside.
I see it as a good alternative for a one-person camping tent. Easy to put on, you only need a tree, and it’s much easier to isolate.
I also love it’s form. It looks like a waterdrop hanging from a tree.
