Airwash: waterless and detergentless washing machine
augustus 26th, 2007 by admin
The greens and environmentalist among us will be delighted to hear about Airwash, the award winning design (2005 Electrolux Design Lab Award and INDEX award: Design to improve life competition) of Gabriel Tan & Wendy Chua, two students from Singapore.
Airwash is a waterless and detergent less consumer washing machine. It’s meant to clean individual clothes (one peace at a time) using the power of negatively charged ions, compressed air and a perfume finish.
It’s design (which easily beats the design of conventional washing machines in my opinion) is inspired by the form of a waterfall.
A waterfall without water this time though.
